Do you remember a time when you were trying to search for information about a business such as hours, location or pricing? Have you ever had a hard time finding that business online? It can be frustrating and for many of you, it decreases your likelihood to use their services when you cannot find them online or if they’re not easily found.
This is why an online presence is crucial and everyone should have one. However, there are more benefits to being present online that will help grow your business. If these next five reasons don’t convince you, I don’t know what will!
1. It helps your customers find you
This is what we just covered. When people can easily find you online for whatever they need, they are more likely to use your service and recommend you. Get found on Google is a real thing, folks. If you’re not even on it, or you can only be found on the sixth page, you’re decreasing the likelihood of current customers or potential customers finding you.
2. Reach more people
It’s simple. The more people that can find you, the more business you will get! Imagine just having a website for people to search for. Developing this will increase your business and your credibility immensely.
3. Build a stronger brand
When people continually see your business, you start to create a brand for yourself. Recognition is everything. If someone has seen something in the past or is familiar with a certain brand, they’re more likely to choose it over a competitor.
Having a credible business is what brings people back to it. If you have an online presence and your competitor does not, you’re already ahead of the game and when people find you and not them, guess which one they are going to pick… On the other side of things, if you don’t have anything online, the majority of people will think your business is sketchy or unreliable.
Reputation is huge. When you grow your business and continue to build your online presence you will gain a reputation. One that people will share and recommend for other potential customers. If you have a reputation for not being online or offering any information for the customer outside of store hours, you’re not going to have a great reputation.
Without all of these things, you could be decreasing your sales and pushing customers away. Many people think creating an online presence is too hard or too expensive. They are afraid they don’t have the skills or the time. Read my blog Should I Hire Help with Social Media? For some more information!
